LOCATION
Corpus Christi Catholic High School is one of eight Diocesan secondary coeducational high schools within the Diocese of Wollongong.
Corpus Christi was established in 2006 to serve the needs of Catholic families in the southern Illawarra region. Students are drawn from a range of parishes extending from Port Kembla in the north to Kiama/Gerringong in the south.
The school is located in the Oak Flats industrial area, within easy walking access from Oak Flats railway station.
PHYSICAL SETTING
Corpus Christi is located on a 5.5 hectare parcel of land at the southern end of the Oak Flats industrial estate. The site is long and narrow in width with a number of hectares being unsuitable for buildings. Construction of the first stage commenced in 2005 and was occupied by the first Year 7 cohort in 2006.
Buildings are double storey and open-plan in design, with a number of large undercover areas where students can gather. The last construction stage was completed in 2011. Currently the school has all structures and facilities to meet the learning needs of a population of one thousand students.
